In Fatherhood , beloved NBA player, poet, children’s advocate, and devoted dad Etan Thomas speaks from his heart on what matters most in his life: being there for his children. As a leading participant in President Obama’s Fatherhood Initiative, Etan has reached out to young men (often young fathers) in the juvenile detention system and in local communities. He knows firsthand the difference having a father in your life every day can make.
Now he brings together a chorus of voices to weigh in on the importance of being a father in our nation today and to share what they’ve learned from being a father, having a father, or in some cases not having a father around.

There are a lot of different perspective about what it means to be a father. He has interviewed some of the most famous men in the U.S. and they all have something unique to offer.

Fatherhood Rising is a ministry of Called to Rise. Its contributors are Aires Patulot (CalledtoRise.org), Ray Pingoy (Archdiocese of Chicago Chastity Education Initiative - Theology of the Body), and Dunn Estacio (Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Office of Adolescent Catechesis and Evangelization).

Fatherhood Rising is a resource for fathers who want to help their families grow in faith. There will be weekly reflections on the Gospel and how it relates to fatherhood and family life, as well as articles and real talk about Catholic fatherhood.

These Gospels act as a mirror into our lives. Can we see ourselves reflected in the readings? Can we be honest with ourselves, give a full account, wash ourselves in the Pool of Siloam, and then see?
